Playthrough will let you, or others, experience an interactive, text-based version of your project with the click of a few buttons. This feature will adapt the structure and contents of your project, and display sequences screen-by-screen, allowing users to experience, and influence the whole story, choice-by-choice, on the fly.
To try it out, select the “Launch Playthrough” option via the ‘File’ menu in your project editor, and your Playthrough will open in a new browser tab.
When your Playthrough launches, users will see a title page, containing the project image (if any), the number of nodes contained in the structure of the project, and the ‘Play’ button.
Select ‘Play’ to get started!
With Playthrough, users will experience your story in sequential order, making their own decisions step-by-step. Pressing the ‘back’ button near the top left corner of the page, at any time during the Playthrough, will return the user to the previous sequence.
As users progress, any assets tagged using the project editor's ‘Breakdown’ tool will be listed on the right-hand side of the Playthrough screen, so you know at a glance exactly which characters and assets are in use for any given sequence. You can hide this panel by clicking the double-arrow at the top.
When you’re done, just close the tab! Your project editor should still be open in another tab.
Sharable Playthrough
If you'd like to share your Playthrough with others, you can generate a sharable link that will allow the recipient to play the text-based version of your game. This can be configured in your Project 'File' menu. If you'd like to revoke access at any time, you can delete the link, via the same menu.
